Curriculum
English Language Arts (ELA)
Kearsley Community Schools recently adopted Benchmark Advance Curriculum for ELA K-5. This program offers a wide range of resources from phonics to big books, electronic resources, shared reading and writing and beyond. This curriculum is developmentally appropriate and offers our students, the district, both horizontal and vertical alignment between grade levels and buildings. Weston continues to offer a balanced literacy program.
For more information please discuss with your child's teacher and/or check out the website below:

Mathematics
Kearsley offers our K-5 students Bridges into Mathematics. This curriculum offers hands on manipulatives with guidance from the teacher. Teachers instruct through Number Corner, small and whole group lessons, conferring with students one on one, and through learning games. These lessons focus on building numeracy skills and problem solving skills. This curriculum offers interventions that relate directly to the curriculum.

Our counseling department offers a wide range of lessons and activities that build on character lessons.
Teachers use the Positivity Project lessons within classrooms to support positive mindsets, building character strengths, and to show that other people matter.
